Granola. You love it, I love it, everybody loves it. It’s all healthy and natural and mess. But how can you make your own granola?

Welp, it turns out there’s about a million ways to do it; here’s just one way to make your very own homemade granola.

Easy Homemade Granola Recipe

Here’s what you’ll need to make some scrumptious granola.
Granola Ingredients

  • 2 cups oats (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp. oil (canola or vegetable)
  • 1 tbsp. water

Delicious Reused Oil
I ended up reusing some old vegetable oil that I had in the fridge. So delicious-looking, yeah?

Nice and dry
Mix all dry ingredients (except raisins and chocolate).

Sweet simmering goodness
Simmer the wet ingredients together for a minute or two.

Things are heating up
Pour into the dry ingredients; squeeze to form lumps. Put the mixture into a greased a 9″x13″ pan, and turn the oven up to 275 degrees, Fahrenheit if you will.

Bake 30 minutes, then chuck the raisins in.

Bake for about 14 minutes more, and retrieve the granola from the sweltering depths of the oven.

Dang, throw some chocolate in
Cool the granola, then stir the chocolate in.

Voila, finished homemade granola
Sha-bam, your homemade granola is complete. Eat n’ enjoy©, or store it for a week or two.

There are MANY other ways to make granola; let me know any cool recipes you dig up.

They were full of mouthwatering, honest-to-goodness, downhome all-natural goodness. And you can take that to the bank.

Sounds yummy! We have a fave granola too, super easy, and sweetened partially with fruit juice.

Hi, I was reading your post and I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such great content. There's so much nonsense on the internet these days its difficult to find anything worthwhile. I actually have cooked this recipe before, I got this book last month on recommendation from a friend http://ninjahq dot com/go/cookingrecipes and it turned out quite nice! I'm extremely eager to try your variation of it though, it looks fantastic. I think you might enjoy those recipes, they're very good. Thanks for the article and tips.
I bet that granola tastes as good as it looks. I can almost imagine that waft of yummy scent coming from the kitchen oven.

You butter believe it. I need to make some granola, it's been too long since I last did so.
This looks so tasty and easy to make. In these modern times when people prefer to buy ready-made granola's from the store, few people have the patience to make the granola from scratch in their kitchens. Thanks for sharing this recipe, I’ll definitely be trying it soon!

Feel free to throw in your own combinations of food. Next time I make this, I'm gonna try adding some cinnamon to kick it up a notch (perhaps even TWO notches).
